Hey guys,

Handful of shots I've taken over the last month and a bit of my Eartheaters. Canon EOS400D, 50MM F1.8 and Canon 24-70MM F2.8, tank lighting only.

I'll sort them by tanks:

140G Rio Essequibo, Guyana Biotope

9x Satanoperca leucosticta

20x Hyphessobrycon rosaceus "Rosy Tetra"

28x Hemigrammus erythrozonus "Glowlight Tetra"

7x Corydoras panda (WTB Corydoras melanistius)

Flirting between a sub-dominant male (or possibly female) and breeding female, while the male was holding.

75G Rio Tapajos/Rio Amazonas Biotope

6x Geophagus sp. "Araguaia Orange Head" (3M 3F)

42x Hyphessobrycon pulchripinnis "Lemon Tetra"

8x Nannostomus beckfordi "Golden Pencilfish"

8x Corydoras julii

5x Otocinclus hoppei

Second, although probably dominant male, has quite the temper and likes beating up women.

Anyway, I'll save you all some bandwidth and stop there, thanks for looking.

Very nice setup's japes, nice eartheaters too, cant wait till my leuco's and tapajos get that big.

Cheers Mark~

Hey Mark, was actually quite surprised with how fast the leucosticta do actually grow. The Orange Heads jetted up to size but the leucosticta just sort of crept along, and then I measured the dominant male, who's very similar in size to a few other specimens, and he's just over 15cm/6" TL.

Patience sure beats netting fish and measuring out of tank

Yeh i know, my leuco's have grown very fast, besides a few which are dragging behind, but yeh to my surprise, a few of the orange heads are catching up and i got them tiny, really quick growers.

Thanks Mark~

I don't know what looks better, the quality of the fish or the quality of the tanks. There are some incredible images here, thanks for sharing.

I have to buy a new camera.

Great photos of fantastic fish and setup.

Did you try and work on the last one?

Ah yes, I see what you mean. In a bit of a rush I've blacked out a few in focus specs just above the fish and hadn't cleaned it up properly, should look better now ;).

Hi Japes

Very nice tanks and fish with an excellent choice of tankmates

some great pics too

I really like the minimal approach of the aquascaping

What are the tank parameters and what substrate did you use

Chris

pH 7, 4dgH, 4dkH. Currently still using tap water, have access to tank water but the Sunshine Coast water supply is fantastic for Americans.

Substrate is Double-Washed Play Sand from Bunnings.

Bit of a bump from the dead. Filtration on the Orange Head setup, which no longer exists, was an Eheim Pro + Eheim Classic.

These are now running two dwarf tanks, and in that setups place is a 6x2x2.
