Bradc
Hey guys and gals just wondering if rummy nose are known for fin nipping? Ive really only ever owned african cichlids and oscars so know very little about community tanks in such. From what i read before purchasing that almost everything i read said they are fine with other fish and fin nipping is rarely seen. But i have see them nip at my geos. I have 7 of them with 4 geos 5 corys and 4 clown loaches in a 4x2x2. Read that the larger the school the less chance of them fin nipping other speciew is to occur. Can anyone shed some light on this for me. Cheers
Ducksta
I'd say basically all tetra's have a tendency to nip any longer/flowing fins that aren't moving a whole lot. I wouldn't expect them to chase down the Geo's though. Don't worry though, the Geo's will get their revenge in time when they eat them.
Ageofaquariums
:/ Rummy noses are not normally very nippy at all. Even the nippier tetra tend to treat geos with respect too.

Ageofaquariums
Ah, OK they are sure to be a lot braver when the geo have no size advantage. Pound for pound Rummys would definitely be the more aggressive fish lol. Will certainly settle down when the geos get some meat on them.
Bradc
Yeah fair enough. Ive had trouble finding geos with size so had to go with smaller size. They are growing relatively fast but would like an established pair to steer the smaller ones around but you cant have it all i suppose
