It will look fuller when the sp. Pindare grow out more but will be good

for surinamensoid Geo's I like a bigger footprint 2' wide as this is where

they spend the most time but the 18" wide will do

my Geo tank is only 5' x 18" x 18" until I get the 2x2 tanks cleaned out

and re set

runs Eheim 2260 and 2217 plus 2 x med sponge filters pH is approx 6.7

but can vary 6.5 to 7.0 depend on where in the water change cycle things

are and houses

7 x sp. Rio Branco

2 x A. heckelli

1 x G. leucasticta

6 x G. steindachneri

3 x S. barbatum cats

10 x Peppermint cats

2 x L002 cats

7 x L397 cats

Also have 2 nice young Chocolates and a couple of other fish growing

to add to the mix

would really like to have access to the dwarf Crenacichla species as they

seem to fit in well from the overseas tank set ups I've seen

I find the 12cm male Rio Branco are fairly pushy and the crowding plus

wood structures help the ones being chased, the Male Heckelli also is

boss of the tank and things stop when he cruises into the area

Fantastic setup Swen.

Very reminiscent of Takashi Amano style of aquascaping. Simply beautiful :thumb

Wow thats quite a compliment, thank you!

I'm yet to keep any geophagus, I have always thought they looked very interesting. Maybe next time in get an urge to re do my tank :-)

They are great, so active and it is very interesting to watch them feed, expecially after a days fasting. If I change this tank I will likely get a huge colony of tropheus in it.

Not overstocked IMO. Looks great.

thanks ducksta

Would have loved a 2' wide tank but it would just take too much room out of the room lol

Pikes would be great but oh well, make do with angels and tetras haha

Chris, don't forget you're coming with me next year - we'll catch a few jacunda

Smuggle a few home in your pockets...

I can hear the Customs officer now... "is that a jacunda in your pocket sir or are you just happy to see me?"

Swens it's even sadder the prices paid when something does appear in the country

compared to what they sell for overseas

would like to still have some of the fish from my past that have disappeared

Duck so generous of you to want to shout me a trip to go fishing Sth America with you

Skippy now they will know where the jacunda will be and I was hoping it wouldn't show
