a few random yanks

Recommended Posts

Last pic amazing,,, couple of variances appearance wise I've noticed now.

Unless conditions differences show then up as being varied.

Yours more solid red,,, mine very red head but sunburnt orange body, but the poor girl got thrashed by the male after he rammed the partition down the bugger.

Mine keep getting worse for aggression as they get older.

Awesome.. I really miss my festae and polleni..... :(

Pat.. do you have any festae fry?

Buccal,

My festae pair bred when the male was about 13cm and they weren't aggro to each other. But I did have other fish like the pollen and some synspillum in the same tank. They kept the corner to themselves and protected the fry.

Hi Arj,,, yeah mine started breeding at that size to,,, ha hah, if only they could stay that size and not get agro and keep breeding.

By the time they hit 18cm or so,, the female got constantly belted/damaged.

I have a divider dividing them, and should the egg tubes pop out on Friday or Saturday,,, I'll pull out the divider and keep an eye on.

A four foot tank i keep mine in is a bit small I'd say, for a more than usual aggressive pair.

Pollini, should be worse still, but mine are a pair made in heaven lol.

I do take the egg bundle out for artificial rearing though.

The male is so protective of his eggs he ripped the loose skin of my knuckle off on my index finger trying to collect eggs,, bloody bugger.

They haven't bred for a while though.
