GundamCichlid
Hi Planning to put these together 2 pairs Red Empress 1 pair Red Rubin Peacock 2 pairs Msobo Trio Electric blue and Trio Red fin Kadango in 300L is this safe or any crossbreeding might happen? Some advise please Thx
Ducksta
I personally would not keep the red fin K's, elec blues, peacocks or red empress in the same tank if breeding. (I've personally not kept empress) Also I think your numbers of each species is too low. And it leaves your overall male ratio too high. Males tend to get more attracted to the wrong ladies when their own kind is in low supply. I would select 2-3 species tops you really want and get a decent sized colony of each, or get males only. If going with your plan, I'd be concerned with every mouthful if you didn't witness spawning start to finish. If these are the fish you want, it will still make a great display, just be a bit wary about selling any fry.
dobbin4
The E-blues will cross with the Red rubin peacocks. msobo males are tough on the girls so go 1m 3 + f, same with red emps. 300lt is a size ??? tank Never kept Red Emps & Kadango together but guessing they may cross bred as well. Ant
Msobo males are tough on the girls so go 1m 3 + f, I'll second that, the more females the better. Never had them personally but on 'reputation' they are like lombardoi. I had 5-6 females for 2 males. Ant
