hey everyone this is my second hand 6x2.5x2.5 i got myself on the weekend:)

shes gonna be filled with tanganyikan's

ill post more images as i set it up

haha yeh shoulda taken before shots it was extremely dirty

was in a shed for a year or so

i scored it cheap for $450

with some other things too

owner was just keen to get rid of it

yeh the agave takes off we got a few around

nah i bought an fx5 for it

didint come with holes drilled

and dont particularly feel like drilling

so yeh should do the job for now

yeh hopefully wont be too long before its set up but yeh its gonna be

a bit of a waiting process from now

cos i still gotta paint walls and do some work in my room

but once all thats done in she goes :)

Finally moved the Beast into my room!, i scraped the old paint off the back and thats all so far, moving slowly but getting there, hopefully fish will be in by next year, when i come back from holidays!.

and i will post more updates as i go, for people who are interested.

haha yeh its hard not to but i was doing renovations so i couldent put it in, now its in, but im going away on december 20th for 3 weeks, so dont particularly wanna set it up just yet.

ill check it for leaks soon while its in my bedroom i have polished concrete floors so a bit of water doesnt worry me :)

A 6'x30"x30" holds more than "a bit of water" mate :lol3:

I would definately leak test that beast outside over a few days before filling it in my bedroom. ;)

A quick update for everyone, i have just returned from a holiday on kangaroo island fantastic place by the way :), ill get another thread going for some images, and now im ready to start setting up the tank.

Today i just ordered some lava rock and tomorow ill be going to buy the sand, as soon as they are both here ill begin the whole process of setting everything up.

Regarding the paint, if I can make a suggestion, go for the darkest green / aqua you can find. Stick to the green side of aqua, but not full green. Find the darkest one you can, without it looking black :lol2:

I've painted lots of taks lots of colours over the years, and a really dark aqua looks the best. All colours will lighten substantially once the tank is filled and there is light shining on it, so you need to start a lot darker than your preferred end colour.
