Eaglebarret
Hi Mark, This happens to me all the time, after about six months or so you will find you wil need to clean the tubing as it will restrict the flow of water. The only problem with algae is that it will lessen the flow of water eventually and if it is left to build up.
BaZ
You can get a tool for this job which is easy to use. It's like a little bottle brush on the end of a long wire. 1 or 2 insertions is all it should take for your hose to come good.

Ducksta
BaZ, your a filthy dirty man. The algae can be beneficial, as it will aid in some chemical filtation and remove nitrates and some other elements which can build up. I would only clean it out if it seriously affected the flow

CThompson
I agree there are benefits to algae growth inside a tank. BUT not inside tubing suppling life support to my fish. Clean all algae out of the inside of any tubing as the disadvantages far outweigh the advantages. Craig
