Chester
I have a Maleri Gold that I got from the auctions about 6 months ago. As it has matured it has now turned a deep orange colour. I have seen pictures of many Maleri Golds and most of them seem to be a yellow colour. Am I looking at the wrong pictures? does anyone have a picture of what a maleri gold should look like? and if my fish is not a maleri gold then what is it? Thanks, Rodney
Gav
If its not a gold your problem may be this a Maleri Gold that I got from the auctions buying any aulonocara at the auctions that isn't coloured up is dubious at best, risky more likely . just my personal opinion there though . sounds though like you might have a really nice display fish that Paul may like for his mate post a pic up and get some opinions though. in my experience, maleri golds have been a gold/yellow colour. Chester
He gets about 90% orca pellets/ cichlid attack pellets and once a week they usually get colorbits, frozen brine shrimp or frozen blood worms.
MattLeasegang
Its a line bred fish people selectivly choose the fish with the most colour in the male and breed it with a female from the same colured parents and slowly colour the fish until its orange so it is naturally an orange. They look awsome -Matt
Chester
Matt, that definitely sounds like my fish. Even at the auction it was mostly orange. So I don't think it is what I am feeding it.
