8x2x2.5 filtration

Hi all

I’m setting up an 8x2 tank that will be 2 or 2.5 high at the office at work. I was thinking about setting it up with a couple of fx6 filters, maybe a side drop at one end, but keen for other opinions.

It will most likely be stocked with larger cichlids given that the fish won’t be fed on the weekend.

It is very slow in here .. not many replies 🙄

I love Fluval canister filters. They have been good to me thus far. As for stocking options, large cichlids are always a good option. Alternatively you can have a large planted South American tank.

PS - your work sounds fun. No fish tank at our work 🤪

Hi @brucem

I would look at a sump if plumbing and initial cost won't be a problem

it is more mechanical and bacterial efficient and easy to add any chemical filtration

you can have sponge filters in it for back up, the new range of pumps

are more economical to run, you can hide a heater in it

You can also run some other form of secondary cannister filter which becomes

handy if you need to set up a tank quick
