I like to have a sponge filter in with them for bacteria to feed on

the can graze and get a good dose of gut fauna

you can only look to reduce fry loss but even so it should only

be minimal with Ancistrus unlike Sturisoma (Royal Whiptail)

spirulina flakes and a crap load of wood in the fry saver or tank..My first 10 batchs died after couple of weeks they were in a fry saver they would get fat and just die...Wood was the secret for the fry

What wafers do you guys use? Im thinking of getting some NLS ones. Do they contain to much protein for tje fry and will they cause the fry to get fat and die like cheaper food seems to do for me?

I have moved my breeding BNs to a 4ft tank with a large piece of wood (30cm) a small internal ehiem, a sponge filter and a mat filter across one end, water is crystal clear and location is quiet with not much movement in the room, see how we go.

Cherry shrimp for cleaning duties too.
