Link2Hell
not familiar with these but look like most other square style filters I'm guessing that it isn't self priming so when priming and you get the syphon started all is OK and water flows from the outlet hose but nothing happens when you switch the power on ? have you tried switching on when the hose is below tank level into a bucket ? does the pump work when you switch on the power ? Foti
i do 1 of 2 things fill with presher from other pump and if it does not get started i would then use a bucket and gravity feed it then lift outlet into tank with the bucket
Link2Hell
Foti if you have it inline with another pump it may get an airlock when you reconnect the hose to the pick up when you gravity feed it does the flow increase if you turn the power on if it doesn't then its a pump or impellor problem does the impeller work when you turn on the power Chris

cpfc
I have a cf500 and had similiar issues. I went back to basics. 1 Is the input and output connected in the right holes? 2 Is the lid orientated correctly so the output pipe with washer aligns with the impeller input. 3 Have you tried taking the output pipe out at the top where it goes in the tank and dropping it below the level of the surface of the tank (bucket in hand). If you do not get a siphon then you may have a blockage. I have also found that the bio balls can go up the output tube. Sorry if I sound patronising but they are all screw ups I made. In IT I often find that going back to the basics fixes a lot of issues. hey all i have a aqua one cf 1000 and can not get it to pump. i have tried rocking it, blowing down the lines and taken the top off many times with no success. i know it works because i had it running on another tank but since moving it i cant get it going again. please help me with any suggestions. cheers

howard
You can stick a hose in the inlet and once the outlet starts gushing out water you remove the hose and make sure to keep the inlet hose submerged the whole time. that should do the trick
Aquaholic
You can stick a hose in the inlet and once the outlet starts gushing out water you remove the hose and make sure to keep the inlet hose submerged the whole time. that should do the trick you can buy a whole box from bunnngs for $5 . They have multiple o'rings, some of which also fit eheims. Check the end of the tap as I found the o ring is held in place by a piece of steel/ plastic ? which can come off. Happened to mine and I ended up buying new taps. the aqua ones have a filler cap in the top. You can pre fill that (I dont bother) but you can also open it to let air out.
