brucem
I noticed in the classifieds that you were after a "chipoka; red rubin". Chipoka and Red Rubin are two different kinds of peacock. Not sure what this guy is at this stage. Bruce

Link2Hell
Rubin's were a line bred form of the Chipoka orange peacock that was developed in Holland from memory link to Rubins Peacock history
brucem
Thanks for clearing that up for me too. I realised that Rubin's were line bred, but didn;t realise that it was derived from Chipoka. Apologies for the bum steer Bruce
Symphy
It is a little hard to tell at that age, unless 1 has seen the parents! Link2Hell wrote:link to Rubins Peacock historyVery nice short article! Regards Ahmed
fry_2_buy
Looks like a female to me... only time will tell otherwise.
ChrisNorris
Thanks heaps for that link mate, very helpful. You really think so fry_2_buy? There were two in the tank and I was pretty much guaranteed that this one was a male. There was another rubin red in the tank as well, he was slightly bigger but very dull. The guy there told me they were both male, however the smaller, more colorful one (mine) was dominating the tank so the larger one never got much color in him. Does that sound right?
