Teamsherman
I have a female fish who is cleaning a rock and her ovipositor is HUGE. I was curious to know that when the female is about to lay eggs does the male show anything from the vent region? The male looks to have a white lump coming out of the vent region. Is this normal? unless he has been kicked in the goolies, i suppose it is but i have to ask as i am un-skilled with cichlids. Cheers, Alan. Cannula
This is quite normal, the female has a larger papilla due to eggs being larger in diameter than sperm. The male might not have his pailla fully extended yet so it may appear as a lump currently. What type of cichlids are they? Hope all goes well
