  1. We took off the hoods, turned of the pumps and glad wrapped the tanks when we bombed our rental house.
  2. Make sure the tub is sturdy and half decent, plastics now days are pretty safe. I know of a fair few people that use pastic tubs as sumps and never heard of any poisoning. As for it melting just get a piece of glass to sit on the bottom of the tub to suction the heater to. Offer still there if you get stuck too .
  3. I live in Berowra Heights and have a 6x2x2 with a few aggressive American cichlids, catfish, and monos (butterfish). What is your guys size, species and aggresiveness?? Hope I can help.
  4. A school of butterfish (monos) always looks good, I've got eight in my 6x2x2 with my cats and American cichlids.
  5. She's beautiful, wish my girl would finish colouring up.
  6. Sleepy Cod as you can imagine seem a bit boring at times but they have alot of character. Mine is only about three inches long so far. Don't own any grunters, but aparrently they can be real nasty fish. So getting one young and growing it up with others as long term tankmates would be suggested.
  7. Does anyone else own snake-headed gudgeons???
  8. Always wanted one since I first saw one so I bought a male last weekend just off a foot long to go in my six footer and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with them. He seems happy with the American cichlids and American/African catties and the Tandanus but I was thinking of getting a female for him or another male. I've seen them only where I got him from and the tank was only a three footer so I'm unsure how they will act in a 6x2x2 where a territory could be made. Cheers!
  9. Nice fish and I love the first pic, just wondering what dimensions the tank has?
  10. Don't forget Brichardi as an option, I've got a two foot with a pair and their fry, two lots.
  11. My mainly Adrican tank in the bedroom has baby pipi shells as substrate, it works great. I got them from near Brooklyn in the river, should be about the same as the beach. Just give a good wash, should be fine.
  12. Just an update, I transfered the krib fry recently and they all passed away within a day. I put them in with some other fry which are fine no deaths yet so I will keep the new batch with them as long as possible. I did get a camera though, a FujiFilm FinePix S5600 for $200 second hand with the two year extended warranty left. Here is a quick pic of the kribs, don't mind the cotton holding the Anubias on. The Brichardi have bred again too, the new fry are very timid but the first batch are swimming around happily. Here's one of the Brichardis, unfortunately the parents are hard to
  13. I think the technical name is "plastic extruded square mesh".
