Kazaf
I have an Eureka red which has a mouthful in a fry saver, just put it in yesterday. she has had the mouthful for abt 4 or 5 days, i havent fed her anything. i went over to have a look and saw some red oval shaped objects, the size fish eggs. but its red, is this normal? she still have more in her mouth should i seperate her from those eggs if they are eggs? hope to get a reply asap as i dont want her to eat the eggs thats if it is. Thanks in advance.

anchar
Hi Kazaf, I'm not sure if you have fertile eggs or not, but my advice would be to leave them in the fry saver and let nature take it's course. If you strip her, you run the risk of injuring the female and/or fry. If they are eggs, and you remove them, they need to be tumbled. Do you have a tumbler? Also stripping fish at an early age can cause them to not hold in the future. IMO I would just observe. merjo

private rich
unless u have patient. a good female will hold for 3-5 weeks.
fiona
My blasted Eurekas are the spitting champions. Even in nice quiet roomy separators with places to hide. Grr.
Bit Racer
My eureka red females will hold full term and will only spit when I try to catch them. So it's best for you to be patient and catch them 3 weeks after you notice a mouth full.
fiona
They haven't been holding fantastically in the tank ... I might have to move them to a quieter tank, eh?
