dan_thefish_man
Hey I purchased a sponge filter for my baby grow out tank and the suction caps stick to the glass fine but they dont stay on the filter and as soon as they fall off the filter floats to the surface, scares the bejeesus out of the poor Lamprologus Ocellatus Juveniles and spits water everywhere. I have tried silicon and zip ties, both failures. Anyone had a similar problem if so how did u fix. Now that I have glued it i can't just take it back, there must be a simple solution? anchar
Hi, Can you 'jam' it behind a rock? (not so much so that it becomes inefficient as a filter though). merjo
duck
try to squeeze the sponge underwater to get the air out, this should fix your problem.
Link2Hell
Hi Dan What sort of sponge filter we talking about ? Round sponge about 9cm long and an airlift coming out at 90* the cheap copies of the original Tetra filter can be inferior with their suction cups and other components cable tie a lead weight at the 90* angle that goes into the sponge the lead plant anchors will work or a sinker Nice female occellatus pic on your signature L2H
Zeb
Buy a 'biosponge' from Ben and it has a weighted base that holds the down
23Skidoo
If the only prob is keeping the suction caps onto the plastic pegs, i fixed this by burning a hole through the peg with a hot needle, then stiched the suction cap on with fishing line, so i could tie it or you could use a small plastic pin to fix it.
