nannat
live food will always be the greatest.but the use of quality foods will be considerably noticable.whenever ive had to make do with an inferior flakefood ive noticed my fish to seem skinny after a while using it.whether fry or adult. Cichlids_au
The only thing I can add to what fins has said is to excersize the fish. I do this by gently chasing them around the tank with a stick now and then. (Don't frighten them though)
BlakeyBoyR
Hehehe, I just had a mental picture of an oscar on a leash and its owner walking the length of a 5' tank over and over again. Sorry .. I'm weird like that.
Eaglebarret
What is a good temp to raise the water too, without ending up with cooked fish?
YeW
Keep in mind the less exercise they do - the quicker they'll grow... so dont have the tank surging like the surf zone. Other than that: what others have said: bigger volumes, more water changes, better food = faster growing fry. Or just breed malawis - they get "spat" as adults, virtually LOL!
