Mazimbwe Posted December 23, 2003 Author Share Posted December 23, 2003 Hi Fiona.It is no wonder that you missed the fact I was in Hospital...it came as a suprise to me too : About 5 weeks ago I had some surgery to fix my foot, they were both crushed in a M/cycle accident a few years ago, which meant the Dr had to put a couple-o-pins in and brake a few bones, etc, etc.Well, 2 Thursdays ago one of the pins popped out thru the skin. I went back to my Surgeon and he pulled the pin out of my foot with some surgical pliers and started me on Anti-biotics and sent me off for another Plaster-Cast.By the Sunday my foot was even bigger than it had been on Friday and the pain was so bad I knew there was a problem. 3 Hours in the Emergency room at the local Public Hospital and a couple of arguments L8r I was being given Intraveinous Anti-biotics and being moved to a Private Hospital for surgery the next day...And I have been here ever since Turns out that I have a Golden-Staff infection that will require about a month or more of Anti-biotics, following 10 days of intraveinous Anti-biotics, in order to avoid a Bone-infection.But the good news is that my specialist has just told me I can go home 2morro afternoon...he will organise Home-care Nursing to come and do my dressings and Drip-fed Anti-biotics. Just as I had resigned myself to spend Chrissy in the Hospital p.s. Glad you like the ocellatus. I was more than happy to give them to you for nothing, as I am sure you will pass along the good Karma that I received from Andy when he gave me some saulosi for the same price. :D Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Mazimbwe Posted December 26, 2003 Author Share Posted December 26, 2003 Yeah...just an update for ya all.I have arrived home on christmas-eve and spent about 2hours watching the fish without a break...needed my "Fishy Fix".Sad news is that my female C.popelini, from my breeding pair, was dead and stuck against the AC300 intake ...and 2 of my A.comp(Gold) are M.I.A.(Presumed Dead) On the bright side tho...I got to see my Wife(first 4 Anita ), dog, cats & fish for chrissy morning. Was so happy to be home I didn't even mind having the "Out-Laws" over for lunch Looks like I might have a new pair-formation among the remaining Alto's.And the A.baenschi(Chipoka) that I have growing in the Grow-out tank, these guys are 5cm(maybe 5½ at a stretch), have 2 mouthfulls and the little male has great colour for his size. When I get my other crissy present in a few days I will post some pic's to show ya all Cheers.p.s.
