MikeWs Fish
buy a filter purse of shell grit and put it in the filter and/or use shell grit or crushed coral ect o limestone as the substrate. All of these things are faiorly cheap and will raise the ph and kepp the water at a desirable hardness etc
siklid
Increasing pH for discus? I think it has to be lowered instead of increased because Sydneys tap water is in the mid 7's as to discus which desire around the low 6 range pH..... Thats if your using tap water? Burek
Maybe his water is already at a low p.h level?
duck
i'd suggest not to play with ph to avoid ph swing. you should be glad to have low ph, i use straight tap water which is around 7.5 and cant be bothered to try to lower. my fish happy and im happy
anchar
The following article on hardness will also be helpful to you....I recommend reading it so that you can make a more informed decision on maintaining stable water conditions for your discus. They can be a difficult species at the best of times. http://gcas.org.au/articles/merjo5.html merjo
