  1. Hi Winston, I appreciate you going out of your way to explain in such detail. I feel it’s helped immensely and the information on running the drip along the ground instead of up high I wouldn’t have even though about. I’ll send you a PM with my details, thanks again.
  2. Does anyone have any experience with drip water change systems, wanting to hookup 21 tanks to this type of system. Have watched a tonne of vids on YouTube and still not sure which way I should do it. If anyone is in Sydney that could help out and get things moving I’m willing to pay for your time and expertise. Would rather someone who knows about this fishy stuff than asking a plumber about it. Daniel
  3. Hi guys, I found a local lake around the corner from my house which seems to have large deposits of a type of white/greyish clay deposited everywhere. Not sure if it could be used as a bottom layer that would benefit rooted plants. I have read up about clay and have used the reddish/orange colour clay before with success but not sure about this stuff. I have learnt that the orange stuff is that colour due to the iron content which probably means this white stuff doesn't really have any at all. Pretty smelly btw, don't think its due to organic matter though. Here are some pics, any ideas? Is
  4. All sponge filters have been put into the sump now, which were a bit of an eyesore, i have tidied things up a bit also. The tank will be stocked with many more fish to come so it's not overly filtered, I have seen other tanks with much greater turnover.. Will post some pics up soon.. Still looking for some thin val to run along the back wall atm, does anyone have any?

  9. Hi Guys, As the title states my Seachem SAFE has an unusually bad smell to it the last couple of weeks, Its quite a few years old though (~3), Its also stored in an airlock container. Could it be due to its age? Heat over the last few weeks? Has anyone else had any instances of this? It is not the typical smell associated with it normally also. Also, is SAFE just pure sodium thiosulfate? I can get my hands on this stuff pretty cheap so if anyone is interested let me know... Cheers, Daniel
  10. Hey toufic sorry about that, my inbox was full, now u can send a PM....

I'm willing to pay good money for this stuff also.... Cheers, daniel
  12. Thanks for the info guys. I will look up on that renderers mix. Just a few other questions, will i need to apply any type of waterproof coating (pond sealer)over the renderers mix? also, how would i be able to add some colour to the mix without it leaching into the water?
  13. Hi guys, I am just in the process of creating a styro background, I was wondering if I could find some concrete or something similar in form that I could add to the background that is aquarium-safe. Any ideas? Cheers, Daniel
  14. Hi guys, does anyone know where to purchase fine black sand from? cheers, Daniel
  15. Increasing pH for discus? I think it has to be lowered instead of increased because Sydneys tap water is in the mid 7's as to discus which desire around the low 6 range pH..... Thats if your using tap water?
