wetfish
On a recent visit to a local club, that has several cichlid display tanks. I noticed a venustus with an extreamly big belly. was wondering if this was called malawi bloat? the fish didnt look as active as the venustus i have at home. Does it harm the fish in anyway? Or is there some kind of remedy for it ?? i have never seen this condition before and was wondering what causes it ? Wetfish
Kazaf
My Venestus have fat bellies too, I dont know about what you saw. Mine are just hogging all the food, that is whats causing my Venestus to have a fat belly.
wetfish
I cannt say if he was eating too much or not, while i was there they were not feed, Other fish in the tank included an Aulonocara Eureka Red who looked in good condition. Not over feed and a range of others The venustus had a belly about the size of a golf ball. Wetfish
jaz1986
venustus are known to eat up lots until they have very fat bodies... Malawi bloat does not normally affect larger fish... although... if they have bloat... the tale would not only be told in their stomach... as their entire body would pretty much swell up... (in the case of venustus at least)
