23Skidoo
Cool water fish from England. I wouldn't know pH requirements, but from what i understand they will probably tolerate anything. Checkout fishbase.org they have profiles on heaps of fish.
Ducksta
What are the conditions it came from? Thats what I would aim for, as thats where it has spent its life.
benno
I caught a red fin last time i went fishing. I brought it home and put it in the american cichlid tank and it died within 20 minutes. Benno
Dark Morelia
They can tolerate a wide range of water values, but they can't tolerate warm water. That's probably why Benno's one died. I'm sure normal Aquarium temps are too high for them. I've kept small (2-3") Brown and Rainbow Trout before, and they're fine through winter with no heater, but when it comes summertime, and in a tank, they have no deeper, cooler water to go to, then they died. The problem was combatted by freezing 2lt bottles of water, but it's a real painus putting a new one in sometimes twice a day through summer. Redfin can tolerate warmer water than Trout, but i think you'll probably still have the same problem. But you never know ! give it a try !
