Geoffagus Posted December 7, 2003 Share Posted December 7, 2003 G'day Jim as far as I know purchasing wood from an aquarium is advised so as you can be assured that you are using the correct spieces. Some ones I use include mangrove, ironbark. I heard that someone put teatree in their tank with disastrous results as you can imagine so know what you are putting in! I usualy don't bother to soak out the tanin, apart from making you water brown which will go eventually with regular water changes the catfish aren't bothered by this.
