How much sleep do Cichlid’s need

Hey guys 

Im just seeing how much light time and how sleep people are giving there Cichlid’s. 
I’ve been running about 16hours of lights and 8hours of sleep and all seems well my fish are breeding and look happy 

I was just wondering if 16hours is too much 

any information on this would be appreciated

16 hours should be fine if it's a planted tank if not maybe you should go the other way 8hrs on  and 16hrs off cos fish don't need light plants do otherwise light on tank are for uou to see more clearly
