Buccal
Should be once a year, however, not once in my life have I done this. If you don't maintain them, you run run at risk it coming to a halt and stop then cook and seize,,,,, the bigger the motor the more chance of seizing,,, as many of my small ones that seize, I clean and they work again,, where as big ones generate much more heat and just melt. Since I've been running man made beneficial bacteria cultures in my system though, that kind of grime build up is thinner and weaker. You only need to pop out the impeller/magnet and clean the slimy coat off it and the cylinder shaft it sits in.
