dempsey
I know they aren't Cichlids. But: I want to show off my work.. I pretty much completed them this week.2 tanks: 1 for the peppermint colony, other is the L333 colony. The wall and floor work is Stone and slate.Took hours of angle grinding Slate and stone pavers, to get shapes and make it look more natural. Ducksta
It looks great. What is your plan for detritus settling under the slate "floors"?
dempsey
The Peppermint tank is a little susceptible to debris under the slate. Not as much now as when these pictures were taken though. In the pepp tank pics you can see the gaps are big enough at the front to get pebbles between the rock and the glass. That doesn't happen now - so its minimal - just like the L333 tank. Not much debris gets down there at all and is mostly flushed out with a heavy water change ( which they get all the time ) Its running Very clean - almost like having your own internal biological build up and: getting to have the benefits of glass floors..Cept theyre slate.
