malawi sand diver
He looks like he has put on some size even from the last pic. In top condition and showing some great colour.
Alex
Thanks mate. Seems like he is going through a growth spurt at the moment. His colour is highly variable. Dueing water changes and feeding he goes a blood red colour. After a big feed he goes almost completely silver. The photo is his general 'kick around' colours. Ged
Great photo Alex. I still believe MJ are one the most underrated native species.
Alex
Thanks Ged.Seriously underrated fish. Although everyone who has seen pics of this fish or in person loves it.They have their issues though. A one tank per fish puts a lot of people off, as well as the potential adult size.
Ged
Having one fish in a big tank is not for everyone but what a fish and full of character.
Alex
Any other MJ keepers? Surely must be someone hiding somewhere. This fish is going through a huge growth spurt. Can eat 10-15 good sized prawn or about 40 big whitebait. This thing is a machine, and I've kept a lot of large predators.
