Alex
HiMangrove Jack. One of the staunchest fish I have ever owned. When I first got him at 10cm, he was tolerant of tank mates. Kept him with African cichlids for about 12 months until he decided life with other fish wasn't for him. He took out a few similarly sized Malawi haps before I decided to keep him solo.A few months after I got him.A few weeks back at 40cm, maybe a little larger.Happy fish keeping.Alex

Alex
No salt, in a 5x2x2 until I move house later in the year. Then he will go into an 8x3x2.
malawi sand diver
Great fish, he looks in top condition too, has filled out a lot since the first shot. Looks like a Champsochromis spilorhyncus in with him in the first shot? nice fish aswell.

Alex
Funny you say that, I was playing around with some soft plastics I plan on using tomorrow. Walked passed my peacockbass and MJ and was half tempted to crush the barbs and have a fish.
Ducksta
l've played with a few hookless plastics. Interesting seeing who responds to what. Unfortunately a few months ago my little toga took a prong with gusto and the mono busted on the tank lip. Had to chase the bugger round with nets and stuff around with long pliers. Not worth that. Ged
Moral of the story is that you should have had a shorter leader and used braid. Fantastic fish Alex. Great fighting fish particulaly when targeting them on light outfits.
