howard Posted March 27, 2013 Share Posted March 27, 2013 Hey guys, recently just got back into the hobby , picked up this second hand aquaone 4x2x1.5 tank with cabinet , canister an light .Finnaly got the thing running, going to stock the tank with African chilids as soon as I get around to it How long should I soak this for ? firthy13 Posted March 28, 2013 Share Posted March 28, 2013 thats normal with wood that hasnt seen water for a while. soaking it in boiling water will help with opening up the timber fibres and release the tannins quicker. also give it a scrub with a stuff bristled brush to remove the slimy stuff and any other foreign objects before sticking in the tank.
