mattrox
I'd think that its possible, but inefficient.
Aquaholic
Not easily. You would draw from one tank and pump out in the other, hence one tank empty and one tank overflowing. You would need one tank to overflow into the other. Be easier to get a sump

Be easier to get a sump I thought of a sump just don't know how to drill holes in a tank and sending them to get drilled isnt worth it Also can't you draw water from both tanks to the filter then pumping water back to both tanks
Josh
Drawing from both would be major hassle. It would be so hard to get even amounts of water from each tank and then you would have to match the water flowing back to each tank to the amount of water that was drawn out of it. Not worth the trouble IMHO Keep running two canisters, it is so much easier
dogboy
it is possible and all you need is a water bridge, although i have had fish swim through these. check this link for several ways to make water bridges http://www.backyardaquaponics.com/forum/vi...?f=8&t=4086 however as others have said easier to stick to single canisters
mattrox
if you use several thicknesses of ply but to the tank size and you raised it 3 or so inches you may be able to rig an overflow which would work to keep water moving.
Elapid
Any road you take seems like one stuff up and say goodbye to your fish. Just buy a cheapie or secondhand canister and run one on each
M.H
Thanks guys I think I'll just stick to two canisters for now but i am gonna experiment with something in the near future
