Barracuda
How long does it take for a common bristlenose to reach breeding maturity? Is it the same time for all bristlenose (albino and peppermints?) Will they cross breed and produce fertile offspring? Thanks
Barracuda
Also, is the growth rate the same?
Wolfy
Common, Longfin, Albino and Calico/Marble Bristlenose are all the same species and will breed together without any problems. Longfin, Albino and Calico/Marble are simply variants of Common Bristlenose usually selectively bred for the specific trait. Peppermint Bristlenose are a different species and will not cross-breed with Common Bristlnose (or variants listed above).
Kangus
common BN take approx 14-16months (9+cm) before they will breed. I have heard that the Pepps take about 2 years to reach breeding age, as pepps grow a little slower
