E4G13M4N Posted December 2, 2003 Share Posted December 2, 2003 True the shell grit would probably pack down a bit, i use the canunda shells as substrate more than anything very light as well, they basically look like small live bearing snails :rolleyes: As they are so light i dont think they would compact in a filter, but must admit havnt tried them that way either yet..As a substrate though you always get a few floating around for awhile but PH is always around the 8 mark Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest big bad burundi Posted December 2, 2003 Share Posted December 2, 2003 I cant see how they will pack down guys ,the inlet too the drums will be from bottom of drums.so the water is flowing upwards always wont this keep things loose.???
