Robbo2232
Hello friends, I am looking for some sugestions on what sort of plants will grow in sand or can be grafted to drift wood. Thanks
Rod54
Anubias and Java fern can do both.....but They are best attached to rocks or driftwood..... roots can be planted keeping rhizome above the substrate....if you plant the rhizome in the substrate it will rot and the plant will die
yvan
I keep some Vallisneria in my tank and they grow fine in the sand. I also have Java ferns and Anubias attached to the rocks.
Bedge
But how do they survive a minute in a cichlid tank??? what is your secret!!!!!
Noddy65
Lots of crypts do well in sand (C.balansae does well in hard water). Aponogetons do well as well. Heres a pic of my tang tank. Its a 2 foot depe tank, some of those C. balansae leaves are over 2 feet long. Many hydrophila do well in hard high ph. Strangely Ive found that vals do ok for a while but eventually just die off in really hard water. Anubia and java fern can do ok in the substrate but usually die off as the rhizome rots when under the substrate. Mike
