Guest Gutty
Looking to get a new tank for my Jag/Jags(i think i have 2 males so eventually there will be only one). I already have a stand for a 6x18 so thats the easy route. Is it going to be big enough for a male Jag, or should he be getting a 6x2x2 ?? Ducksta
Since it is a male, I would say 2' width is essential for a lifetime arrangement. 18" will suffice for a long while though. Females stay considerably smaller, so would be fine with 18", but the male is such a large fish as an adult, I dont think less than 2' would do him justice. You could always try to swap a spare male for a nice girl
Guest Gutty
Cheers Ducksta, yeah, i'd like to swap one of my males for a girl some time in the future, but i think i gotta grow em up a bit more first, just to be sure. The larger fish is growing a whole lot faster than the other(like 3 times faster), but the fact he doesn't tolerate the smaller fish makes me think they might be 2 males. The smaller fish is just too small for me to sex just yet. Thanks Matt
Peter_Gun_Riff
ATM my jags are in a standard 4ft tank but today i saw a really nice and cheap 4x2x2 tank so i think that might be my next one now i just need to save up lol but a 6x2x2 is a nice size tank for a jag but try and get a female for your male im sure someone have 2 females looking for a male.
