AzFish
Hi, Was surfing the net for pond products and came across Pond Prime (seachem) 5ml treats 400ltrs which is stronger than the normal prime (5ml to 200lts) .. Has all the same features, just stronger .. Im thinking I am going to swap to pond prime from now on, its slighty more expensive @ 500ml for $33.00 (online store) but it trests twice the amount .. Cheers, Aaron
sandy001
Pond prime is the same concentration as normal prime. It just has a lower usage recommendation. Check out the Seachem site there is some info on there about it. HTH Dave
CThompson
You'll find also there is a Melafix made for ponds, which goes a loooog way.
chorrylan
Pond melafix is a stronger solution than garden variety melafix. Pond prime on the other hand is exactly the same as ordinary prime other than the labelling (and pricing... which appears to fluctuate wildly). the difference in recommended dose rates is purely because they assume if it's used in a pond that you'll get natural effervescence of some of the chlorine and hence need less prime. If you want cheaper and "nearly" the same then perhaps Seachem safe would suit you.
CThompson
Safe is the active ingredient in Prime, minus some of the frills. That is it will remove the chloramines and chlorine just as well as Prime, but is a huge amount cheaper.
