limegirl
There seems to be varying opinions about what we can put in our tanks, so I want to know about experiences. Has anyone used any native or local woods in their tanks?

limegirl
Hey littleV - what type of tree parts? Gum trees? Do you soak them, or boil them? I think we can all agree that the proper bought stuff is best, but it is impossible to get nice big interesting pieces. At least near my place it is. Shops have to buy it by the tonne and most are reluctant to do so due to space and desire.
Ps. Saulosi Girl
When I first started I got a piece of wood from my local part that had fallen of the tree and put it in my tank, it seemed fine. But I don't know if I would do it know, I would stick to the LFS drifwoods. Lou.

limegirl
Creek at the back of my property is full of fallen wood and trees. Some has been there for months, some for years. It is all gum tree. It just seems like a waste when it is so hard to get nice imaginative peices from the shops now ...
