MoliroMan
could be the bad quality 24-70 L lens? or the B & W UV filter? Or the amateurish post-processing techniques?
MoliroMan
now that i mentioned lens, i remember there was a guy in the birdshow who sat in the middle of the stand lugging what looked to me like a Canon EF 400mm f/2.8L lens resting on a monopod attached to a Canon 1Ds MkII....that was one serious set of equipment costing ~$20000!!! i would have liked to see the pics he took!!! But i must say it would have been hard to track the fast moving birds of prey.
Lepperfish
could be the bad quality 24-70 L lens? or the B & W UV filter? Or the amateurish post-processing techniques? Maybe its a combination of all 3 ?

Its called greyscale. You might have heard of it? But anyways. Whats a B&W UV filter worth? Seems to be effective.
