Harry Morant
One thing I've noticed about my Foai 'Sumbu' when he gets in full mating display is not only does he colour up his body and fins but he puffs out his buccal cavity and turns it black as well. Coloured up but without buccal display Coloured up with buccal cavity display Has anyone else also observed this with Foai?

fiona
It's probably pretty common. I have fish from different continents that do it. BTW congrats on getting the piccy, gee it can be hard getting a particular picture.

I have taken photos of my Sumbu, and it can be really hard to capture their colour with a camera, the timing, the angle and so on, getting the colour reflected back to you just as you press the trigger.
