Water / Shock proof camera's

Everyone must have seen that ad with the dog?

Just wondering if anyone has picked up any of the new range of P&C waterproof digital camera's?

I know pentax has a ~6MP model and Olympus (the one with the ad) has a ~7MP jobby.

Since I no longer have aquariums and I am trying to spend more time ON the water, I was looking at buying a waterproof housing for the ~3MP P&C I have here, but since seeing tha price difference in the options (duty free camera prices though, not local) I think I may buy the water proof camera outright.

ps. Yes I have been to dpreview et al. I am hoping for a tangible review from people/person I (kind of) know.
