D6C1
I got some cutlets from Rob (Mianos) yesterday and decided to try a little tank. Thanks again Rob!! You can see I put the tank next to the window so I can open the blind and let it get some natual sunlight. My miserable attempt is below. I will be making a DIY CO2 and add fertilizer and see how that goes. If those survive, then I will do the following: 1) Change the substrate. Maybe black with the fert. 2)Check out some sort of background. Maybe a black backdrop so that plants stand out. 3) Do it with a bigger tank! 4) An internal filter. At the moment, I only got the sponge filter. At the moment, I got a litlte aro in there (temp), with 5 clown loaches (for looks at the moment) and a small gibbicep (temp). This doesnt compare to other setups here! NO WAY! The water is still cloudy, but I couldnt wait. I had to take the pics!
Bruce
It's not that bad, show us a picture of the arro. Bruce

Simonauv
You might have trouble with the rhizome rotting off planting the java fern like that. It is better to tie them to something above gravel and let them creep over it.
Brett4Perth
I agree with Simon, you are unlikely to have success with Java fern planted in the substrate. Better to attach it to some wood or rocks, cotton or fishing line works well. Cheers Brett
