Huyey
I managed to collect a few good looking sea shells from the beach while I was on holidays and intend to put them in my tank. I was wandering if I can put them straight into my tank or do they require further preparation before I can put them in? I also want to glue some of the smaller cone shells together so that it is easier for me to arrange around the tank and to avoid them getting burried by my fish. Can someone recommend a glue/silicon I can use? Many thanks, Huy
Sarah
you can boil them but not for too long at least thats what i use to do
BaZ
I've used shells from the beach before and boiled them for about 15 minutes first. Glue-wise, look for a silicon which is marked aquarium-safe on the tube. Selleys make one I think.

YeW
I generally just boil them for 10 mins or so to kill off anything nasty (and make me feel like I have done some preparation). Most saltwater parasites are not viable in freshwater anyway . HTH -
