Cannula
I know Oscar are bottom dwellers and crawfish are oppurtunist scavengers, but could they get along or is the Oscar going to kill it during the day and vise versa?
jaz1986
last i heard, oscars only lie at the bottom when scared or full... they are supposed to float at the top near "weed" and eat all the little fish that swim past them... what size cray are we talking about??? i would be careful with any cray that can open its claws further than the width of the oscars belly... at the same time i would be careful with any cray that is not more than double the width of the oscars mouth... r.d.m
on the other hand be careful if the cray is big , they like snipping tails off!
OscarTerror
I have one in with mine at the moment and my new tank wont come quick enough, the crays are fine when they're small but once they're claws start maturing they're sneaky bastards, I wouldn't recommend it but they're fine in my native tank
grungefreek
My mate used to put yabbies in with his oscars for food. Even the biggest yabbies the oscars used to eventually kill and eat as much as they could. He used to throw live mice in their tank and they would kill them, couldnt eat them, though they tried. So if your oscars are big, they will eat the yabbies for sure.
