Guest african-au
unfortunately there is no easy way milking these beautiful fish,, on the day i milk my fronnies i will move rock's & place them flat onto the bottom of tank, this way there is nothing in my way. i place a dark blanket over entire tank & wait 1 hour by that time fish are asleep. the aim is to milk your fronnie as you would any other mouth broaders dont fear milking your fronnies! after a couple of spawns you will be at ease!! good luck
Ducksta
This post might make interesting reading for you. It descends into a bit of nonsense but the underlying information is very accurate and helpful IMO.
marls
hi aqua, frontosa's would have to be the easiest to milk IMO...coz there are easy to catch and they have big mouths you can use your finger to open them... i normally milk my mouth brooders in the evening when they are fast asleep....by the time they awake realise wots going on you've done your job. less stress on the female too. with fronts i let them hold for 3weeks only, at this stage fry are almost free swimming or may just still little egg sacks. I don't let the female hold full term (5weeks) 3weeks without food is long enough, the sooner the female starts eating the quicker she'll condition again.... I hope this helps. cheers marls
