Rolla
Hi guys,Im going tobuy a 2ft tank to house some malawi fry in.Just wanted to know whats the best filtration to use for minimal expense? Is there any problems in not using substrate in this tank? And if i were to add some water out of my established 4ft tank would that help cycle the tank quickly?basically im getting the tank tommorrow and will add new water plus some established water, some terminite (good bacteria) ang putting the fry in..I can aslo add some established gravel if need be, but my main concern is will they survive in an un cycled tank?Dave

Peter_Gun_Riff
yeah i dont think 1 of them would do a 2 ft tank why not try the D.I.Y section or get a sponge filter from your LFS
Barca888
If you are not going to add any bacteria established in the already mature tanks filter with the the cycled water i see no need in even adding the cycled water.
Guest Gutty
Obviously the air driven sponge filters are gonna be the absolute cheapest, but if you have $22-27 dollars to spare i'd check out one of these Hang on filters @ AOAJust my opinion
