Dark Morelia
Hey All- I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a clear laquer, or varnish, or something like that, which is safe for use in an aquarium ? I'm asking because my Gibby seems to be eating the paint off one of my resin ornaments I think a few coats of something will keep him off it. TIA, Andy
Bijengum
I would thinka fibreglass gel coat would be suitable.
Canberra Alex
Two pack resin that is used for outdoor ponds if left to cure then soaked with carbon should be ok
canerod
I'd go with 2 pack marine grade epoxy resin like "west system" i believe its about $30 for a litre, and what u dont use on the tank u can use to make decorations or seal wood decorations to stop tannin leaching. Dark Morelia
Thanks for the help guys. I might go with canerod's suggestion, as i have a very annoying piece of wood that won't stop leaching tannins no matter how long i soak it The Gibby is on the other side of the divider now, and the paint has stopped disappearing off the ornament. I guess it wasn't made with algae-munchers in mind ! Cheers, Andy
