Hi,

I need to move a 4by2 planted tank...its been up and running for three months and the plants are really starting to grow (including the grass)...do I need to remove the plants with the soil or can I justpull them out and replant them later?

;):

Hi -

If you are just shuffling the tank you might be able to leave them in the gravel once you've removed all the water.

If you need to move the tank any decent distance then remove the plants, put them in fish bags with some water (do the bags up) and transport, then replant.

You'll set the tank back a few weeks - but it is a necessary evil :).

Most plants are pretty hardy, and will survive as Dave says; personally I have just enough water to have high humidity, so as to reduce weight. Only problem ones are crypts; due to the different tank conditions, they are likely to melt for a week or so.
