Im just using a random filter wool but its quite weak and im not sure how good it is. Maybe ill pick up some polyfilter or some of the actual Prime pads. It all depends on what type, size and how many fish you have, what size tank you have etc. When you see it all brown and stuff clean it. Basicly your fish live in what ever water makes it passed or through the filter. Sooooo, if the water coming out of your filter looks too dirty for you to drink i doubt your fish are gonna like it a whole lot either. Clean it !
