Getting a 2fter in a couple of weeks god willing and wondering if anyone knows hwere I can get some ballasts that run 4 X 2ft lights

I know i need to be a licensed electrician, and indeed i will get a licensed electrician to do this work. Just wondering where i can get the parts to minimise cost from the sparky

Well, without taking on any legal liabilities here, you dont need to be a licenced electrician to wire up your own fluorescent ballast. They are pretty cheap at bunnings and other hardware stores. Just get an extension lead, cut the end off and expose the wires and you are away. The fixture should have three small points at which you screw in the positive, negative and earth.

Hi Richard,

i think you may find 1 x 2ft tube = 20watts

thus 2 x 2ft = 40 watts

standard tubes are 4ft, 40 watts

so if wired correctly you only need 1, 40 watt ballast per twin 2ft tubes. In your case 2, 40 watt ballasts will do the trick.

also you should be able to get them at any electrical 'wholesaler', T.L.E, Turks, etc.
