inspector rex
I was wondering if anyone uses those hydor inline heaters. You can get them for 50 dollars mail order. I was just wondering, should i use one with a back up heater as well because if my pump im using (possible an ehiem 2215) stops for some reason my tank would drop in temperature and possibly stress fish. Do any people use them here?

TSMill
Yeah I just started using one and it seems to be doing the job. Only thing I noted was that it advertised as suitable for all canister filters. What you will actually find is that the 300W model takes 16-18mm hose and the 200W something like 12mm. hose adapters and vinyl tubing from a hardware store provide a 5 minute fix. a_devis
One thing to remember: they are NOT waterproof from the outside. I ruined one when I was cleaning it. They have a foam lining for thermo insulation and it is impossible to use them without disassembling and drying if the water spilled on them.
