Vukie
Hi guys, I have a pretty aggressive tank and quite a few habitants have claimed a spot in the tank and dont let the other near their caves, it looks really weird having 7 fish on one side of the tank and 1 lombardi all alone on the other side. Anyway i want to get rid of the caves so that way the lombardi wont have anything to be territorial over, is this a good move? Ive tried rearanging my tank but he always seems to find a spot to protect even though i have no females in my tank. I want to make a slate background so my tank dosent look bare, what do i have to look for? is there a certain type of slate i have to buy? are the certain types of slate that are toxic to my cichlids? Do i have to do anythig to the slate make it cichlid friendly? What type of glue do i use? can i use silicon? Alot of questions i know, basically im after a slate background 101, is this a good idea to try to make my lombardi a bit more relaxed.
Dyce
umm I think slates generally non-toxic. To make it more fishfriendly just sand the edges off so they don't cut themselves on it. Anyways heres a link for DIY of it. http://www.plantgeek.net/article_viewer.php?id=
